Job Title: 2 x Research Assistants (title under review)
Department/ College: College of Public Health.
Hours of Work: Full-time 8hr day from 8-5 (1hr login flexibility) and 1 hr lunch.
Period of Appointment: 1 year in the first instance with the possibility to extend.
Responsible to: Master of Global Health Director.
Campus Medical Campus: College of Public Health 17 Xuzhou Road, Taipei, Taiwan.
Salary: Ministry of Education (MoE) Research Assistant Grade dependent on qualifications (Opportunity to progress further may be available following MoE and University approval)
ROLE PURPOSE
Work as a member of the Master of Global Health Team to provide high-quality administrative support on the newly established master’s program. Providing a professional, responsive and personable service. Providing front-line support as the first point of contact for MGH students and academic staff. Establishing and supporting processes across the complete academic cycle, ensuring accurate and timely record management across multiple systems.
ROLE PROFILE
Support student lifecycle processes from pre-enrolment activities, through induction and registration to graduation and beyond, utilizing systems and databases- e.g. student records and database systems accordingly, and in accordance with best practice, ensuring consistency of data and identify and resolve issues.
- Support all enrolment, assessment processes in line with the university, college and external deadlines and regulations. (Such as the Taiwan government, SOPHAS (student applicant portal) and NTU portals)
- Take responsibility for resolving students’ and academics’ inquiries, including face-to-face and via email, responding within agreed timeframes and escalating complex inquiries as appropriate.
- Assist in ensuring that quality assurance requirements and, where required, accreditation requirements are met for relevant programs.
- Actively participate in the development and improvement of the program and processes through identifying and suggesting improvements based on user feedback.
- Work flexibly as part of a team, supporting others in times of high volume activity, providing cover and supporting the training and development of new staff members.
- Ensure all work is carried out in a professional and timely manner, with appropriate confidentiality and sensitivity.
- Organizing and Servicing the MGH steering Committee presenting data and results and delivering progress and outputs at the Dean and Vice Deans meetings and at other senior levels as needed.
- Supporting the new Delta Omega Chapter Chi (DMDC) Honorary society program in the College. Supporting related activities and initiatives.
- Carry out other reasonable responsibilities commensurate with the post as required by the Director Masters of Global Health.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential
- Degree level or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including the ability to draft substantial documents and correspondence with diplomacy.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages and the ability to work on new computer systems.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel with Good social media and website development skills.
- Methodical, detail oriented and flexible in an approach to work, maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders in a professional and assured manner.
- Customer service oriented and efficient working practices.
- Proactive with the ability to work independently as well as delivering within a team.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Respectful of cultural and individual differences.
- Candidates who can speak and translate from Chinese to English and vice versa will be at an advantage.
- Experience is establishing policy, procedure, and processes within an organization.
